What this website collects, why, how long it is kept, and who else sees it.
Needs legal review before launch. This policy accurately describes what the website does technically, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and does not account for Illinois or federal obligations specific to equipment sales and finance. Have counsel check it, then delete this notice.
What we collect, and when
We only collect information you type into a form. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker on this website.
- Contact and enquiry forms: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, company and message.
- Pre-qualification form: the above, plus the business and financing details you provide — years in business, years holding a CDL, an approximate credit range, and the amounts you are considering. We do not ask for, and this form cannot accept, a social security number, a date of birth or bank details.
- Sell or trade form: the above, plus details of the unit you are offering.
- Inventory alerts: your email address and how often you want to hear from us.
What we record automatically
When you submit a form we record the page you submitted it from, your browser’s user-agent string, and a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address.
The hash cannot be reversed to recover your IP address. We use it only to detect abuse — the same hash submitting twenty forms in a minute is a bot, not a buyer. We do not store your IP address itself.
If you arrived through a campaign link, the campaign parameters in that link are recorded with your enquiry so we know which of our efforts reached you.
Cookies
The public website sets no cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
The staff area at /admin uses a single session cookie to keep signed-in employees signed in. It is strictly necessary for that area to function and is not used for tracking.
How we use it
To answer your enquiry, quote a part, value your unit, or discuss financing — in other words, to do the thing you contacted us about.
If you asked for inventory alerts, to email you when matching equipment arrives. We confirm your address before sending anything, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who else sees it
Our website and database are hosted by our infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf and under contract.
Where you have asked about financing and chosen to proceed, we will share the information necessary with a lender — but only after you have authorised that in writing. Submitting the pre-qualification form on this website does not do so, and results in no credit inquiry.
We will disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as we have a business relationship with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, since equipment buyers frequently come back years later.
Inventory alert subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.
Your choices
Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will handle it. We may need to confirm who you are first.
Unsubscribe from inventory alerts using the link in any alert email.
Children
This is a commercial equipment website. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
